text
BARBARIAN DANCE is one of Wim Henderickx's earliest compositions with percussion.
It is very clear that at that time he had a predilection for jazz music.
The work has an inciting rhythmical character.
The title is inspired on the work for piano by Béla Bartok ‘Allegro Barbara'. In 2019 Wim Henderickx also made a version of this work for drums and strings.
