Elegie

Elegy was composed in 1989. The work was written in memory of the victims of terrorism (the Lockerbie aeroplane hijacking). Its obsessive rhythm gives the composition a frightening character at times. The ethereal contrasting passages nevertheless offer some hope. In 2024, carillonneur Luc Rombouts, together with Wim Henderickx's musical assistant Diederik Glorieux, created a version of this work for carillon.
