Impression N° 1

IMPRESSION N° 1 for flute and piano was composed in 1993. As the title suggests, it is a short impression, based on Peter Benoit's Beiaardlied (Carillon Song). Several Antwerp composers have written variations on this theme. If you listen carefully to this work, you will recognise the opening bars of “Dan zal den Beiaard spelen...” (Then the carillon will play...).
