DE PROFUNDIS for four-part mixed choir was composed in 1992.
It is the second motet with Latin lyrics written by the composer. This work is based on Psalm 130.
In contrast to the first motet, “Libera Me”, an English translation was chosen here: “Out of the depths I have cried to you, O Lord”.
It is composed in a free, atonal language.
This work is an expressive musical interpretation in which the intelligibility of the text was taken into account as much as possible.
