Pie Jesu & Lament are parts of the ballet production Requiem, which Wim Henderickx created in collaboration with choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. The work was based on the eponymous work by Gabriel Fauré. This new Requiem was commissioned by Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in 2016 as part of the production EAST. The composer reworked the Pie Jesu and Lament sections for soprano and harp or piano in 2017.
