The SONG OF THE GIRLS was composed in 2006 to lyrics by Bart Moeyaert, originally for voice and accordion. It was also orchestrated for voice and ensemble (flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin, double bass and percussion) and for voice and piano. The music is inspired by an excerpt from Olek schoot een Beer... (Olek shot a Bear...) for narrator and instrumental ensemble from 2006. This song has a dreamy, almost impressionistic character.
